You tell me to grow up, be an adult
As if it\'s something to do at will
Maybe I\'m not ready for what you want
Maybe I\'m not ready for life
You demand things of me that I cannot give
You berate me when I do wrong
But are strangely silent when I do good
Is it because you\'re amazed?
Am I a lost case to you?
You know I can do better, you say
You\'ve decided you know what I can do
You, who haven\'t gone where I have
Now know the bends and turns of the trail?
I rely on you, it\'s true
It is by your grace I continue on my path
Do you know what scares me the most?
That is the extent I need you
I find few tender thoughts with you in mind
Few things that make me happy
We smile, we laugh, when I\'m at home
But that laughter quickly passes
And my resentment grows by the day
You\'re family, you\'re close
That only means you stab harder when you try
But every time you yell, I care less
I\'m hardening to you, your opinions
I\'m losing my last parent

These two stanzas fit perfectly and yet they gave off totally different feels... Very nice, that's hard to do. I can relate to this. *sigh*
